​The Playa Mont Restaurant is a symbol of the Port of Tazacorte due to its history, since its opening in 1976. Mr. Pelayo has been able to conquer the palates of his clients thanks to his good culinary work. Visiting this restaurant is a mandatory stop on the island of La Palma.

​Tazacorte is an agricultural town with a seafaring soul. The Town and Port of Tazacorte extends over a coastal strip of the fertile Aridane valley and occupies an area of ​only 12 square km, being the municipality with the smallest area on the island. Its population is 6900 inhabitants. The wide beach of Puerto de Tazacorte was the place chosen by the conquerors to disembark and begin the Castilian occupation of La Palma, back in 1492.
